ABSTRACT

Rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of the most common knee ligaments trauma and at the same timeone of the most common injuries in orthopedic practice. Regardless of the type of a treatment performed, a defi ciency of thequadriceps muscle is always detected after a ACL injury and can persist for a long time. Research data does not support thereconstruction of ACL as the way of improvement of the quadriceps muscle strength compared with conservative treatmentafter ACL injury. In our work, we conducted a comparative assessment of the eff ectiveness of training for developing thestrength capabilities of the quadriceps femoris muscle in a closed kinematic chain using the «Con-trex» robotic mechanictherapyon patients undergoing conservative treatment after ACL surgery. It was found that in patients undergoing conservative treatment, the defi cit of muscle strength was greater than in patients who received surgical treatment. At the sametime, at the end of the training course, the increase in the strength of the quadriceps femoris muscle was greater in patientswho did not receive surgical treatment. according to the VAS scale, pain syndrome decreased in both groups.
