International Congress "Health Resort Treatment"
The XII International Congress "Health Resort Treatment" will take place on 21–22 May 2026. It will focus on strategic development priorities, new approaches and best practices aimed at improving effectiveness, introducing innovations and strengthening the role of health resort treatment as an integral part of the healthcare system.The congress is being held with the support and direct involvement of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and in accordance with the plan of scientific and practical events of the Russian Ministry of Health for 2026.

The Congress is organized by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the National Medical Research Centre for Rehabilitation and Balneology of the Russian Ministry of Health, and the Association of Spa and Tourist Towns.
The XII International Congress "Health Resort Treatment" will bring together leading experts to identify the vectors of development for the sector, implement cutting-edge scientific advances and shape future standards for health improvement. The Congress will feature distinguished speakers—leaders and experts who play a key role in driving significant change within the health resort sector, leading external experts in health resort treatment, specialists from the scientific and clinical centres of the Russian Ministry of Health, leaders and professionals in practical rehabilitation medicine, and representatives of departmental healthcare within the health resort complexes of Russia’s constituent entities.
Representatives from the Russian Ministry of Health, the State Duma and the Federation Council are expected to attend.
The scientific and practical programme of the Congress comprises 20 sessions, panel discussions, meetings and masterclasses. These cover the full range of issues facing the modern health resort sector, with a focus on digitalisation, cost-effectiveness and cutting-edge medicine. Participants will discuss the strategic direction for developing the industry, the experience of departmental health resort organisations, and how they can be benchmarked against other sectors. Other topics include infrastructure, material and technical resources; the digitalization of business processes; the introduction of modern technologies in health resort organizations; new scientific achievements in Russian and international balneology; innovative approaches to non-pharmacological technologies; and traditional medicine methods in comprehensive treatment. There will also be a focus on methods of regenerative and translational medicine. Particular emphasis will be placed on modern methods of sports medicine and medical rehabilitation.
A specialized exhibition featuring medical rehabilitation equipment, devices and apparatus; medical products for balneotherapy and peloidotherapy; physiotherapy equipment; and sports medicine equipment, along with demonstrations of effective fitness practices and instruments for organizing spa areas in sanatoria, will be held over the course of two days.
An application regarding the Congress will be submitted to the Commission for the Assessment of Compliance of Training Activities and Materials for Continuous Medical Education with the established requirements of the Coordination Council for the Development of Continuous Medical and Pharmaceutical Education of the Russian Ministry of Health.
